The Cartographers by Peng ShepherdMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
I loved this book about friends, love, mystery, fantasy and most of all maps. I learned how to drive on vacations with my grandparents reading a map. Peng writes wonderful and descriptive. I woke up reading it, afternoon, and going to bed like I use to before my stroke, so good I wanted to know the whole story and not just slowly reading. Reminded me of books I read in high school when I read till I couldn't put it down. I got this while ago and finally decided to read it and I read it ten days which is a miracle for me and a long book also. Definitely 5 stars, for her writing and storytelling and I would give her more for something that brought me great memories but with a story of her own. I love the phantom settlement, something mysterious, on maps and how they found a hidden town and how one person could get greedy with hiding it from everyone knowing about it. An adventure with added twists and turns just like I like books to be like. How friends can get caught up in something so mysterious and lose sight of what they really are creating. Art, history, and life. Thank you for writing this book. :)
